Aspentech To Hold Process-Optimisation Conference

The Aspentech 2009 user conference, which is intended to highlight how customers use process optimisation to 'navigate uncertainty', is scheduled to be held on 4-7 May in Houston. BP, Dow Chemical, Fluor and Evonik Degussa, along with other process-industry customers, will share best-practice experiences at the event, which will take place at the Woodlands Waterway Marriott.

The theme of the conference highlights how Aspentech customers are using AspenONE to increase efficiency, reduce manufacturing costs and improve agility in a volatile global economy. The Aspentech conference will also focus on best practices for using software to optimise process manufacturing. It will bring together engineering and manufacturing professionals from a range of process-industry companies and across the Aspentech partner community.

James Hackett, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Anadarko, an independent oil-and-gas exploration and production company, will deliver the opening keynote speech at this year's conference. Hackett also serves as chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. Blair Wheeler, senior vice-president of marketing at Aspentech, said: 'Navigating these uncertain times profitably is a significant challenge for process manufacturers and puts even greater emphasis on the importance of achieving best-practice operations.

'The 2009 Aspentech user group meeting is filled with case studies and examples of how the best companies are using advanced software tools to optimise their manufacturing operations in response to challenging and volatile market conditions.'.
