Roofmate LG-A Supports Code And BREEAM Targets

Roofers looking for easy wins when it comes to energy efficiency have a new insulation product to turn to Roofmate LG-A from Dow Building Solutions. New parapet insulation extends choice for roofers. The Styrofoam product is ideally suited to parapet insulation, and comes with a 10mm modified concrete topping to minimise cost and installation time.

It also complements the increasingly popular Roofmate SL-A insulation boards, designed for inverted warm roofs. Dow's A-foam range uses recycled CO2 as a blowing agent, resulting in a Global Warning Potential (GWP) of less than five - new Roofmate LG-A qualifies for Code for Sustainable Homes and BREEAM insulation specification credits. "Providing Roofmate LG in our environmentally-advanced A-foam format combines the proven benefits of the inverted roof system with an insulation product for parapets that's better for the environment," explained Richard Powell, UK Roofing Manager for Dow Building Solutions.

"It extends our roofing insulation range even further, whilst maintaining the well-known qualities of Styrofoam - low water absorption, ease of installation and of course superior insulating performance". Roofmate LG-A provides an efficient method of insulating parapets and preventing them from becoming a 'cold-sink', drawing heat from inside the building. They lock together to provide a continuous insulation layer and reduced wind-lift effects.

The boards are light enough for one man to install - even in wet weather - and they can easily be added to existing waterproofing layers. The product - which can also be used for lightweight inverted roofs - will initially be available in a thickness of 80mm plus 10mm mortar topping, with board lengths of 1,250mm and width of 600mm.
