CUI Inc announces the addition of a family of compact 300 W power supplies to its VMS ac-dc medical power portfolio. Offering exceptionally high power density of 12.5 W/in3, the space-saving power supplies are housed in three optional case styles, including a compact U-frame measuring 5 x 3.2 x 1.5 inches (127.00 x 81.28 x 38.1 mm) and an enclosed version with top or rear fan. The power supplies meet EN60601-1 3rd edition specifications for medical and dental applications, carry UL/cUL and TUV 60601-1 3rd edition safety certifications, and provide EN55022 class B EMI compliance. They feature 4k Vac reinforced input-to-output isolation and an output-to-ground isolation of 1500 Vac. CUI Inc announces 12 new ac-dc encapsulated power modules for space-constrained applications. The 1 W VSK-S1 series and 2 W VSK-S2 series feature ultra-compact 0.8 in3 packages measuring 1.32’’ x 0.87’’ x 0.70’’ (33.7 x 22.2 x 18 mm). With industry-leading no-load power consumption of 100 mW, the modules are ideal for primary or auxiliary power conversion in a variety of ITE, consumer electronics, and industrial control applications. An input range of 85~305 Vac makes these ac-dc modules suitable for lighting and smart building systems that operate from 277 Vac. Up to 78% efficient, with an operating temperature range of -25 to 70 degrees C, the power supplies feature very low ripple and noise. CUI Inc announced the addition of a new surface mount series to its high efficiency, constant current dc-dc LED driver family. Designed to drive high power LEDs, the VLD25-SMT series provides efficiency levels of up to 96%, current accuracy of ±2%, and an ultra-wide input range of 5.5 to 48 Vdc. The series offers two means of LED dimming: PWM digital dimming and analog dimming control via a trim pot, making it ideal for applications where precise accuracy and brightness control is needed, including signage, transport, consumer electronics, and signaling. The series is compact, measuring 0.94 x 0.54 x 0.30 inches in a 16-pin SMT package. Available output currents include 300, 350, 500, 600, and 700 mA with an output voltage range of 3.3 to 36 Vdc. CUI Inc announced the addition of a new family of enclosed pcb mount speakers to their Components product line. The CVS series is housed in a protective plastic case with diameters ranging from 15 mm to 31.8 mm. Features include Mylar cones for increased durability and pin type terminals for direct integration into a circuit board design. Sound pressure levels range from 73 db up to 85 dB at 1 meter. Input power required to drive the speakers remains low, ranging from 0.1 W to 0.5 W. All speakers are RoHS compliant. CUI Inc announced a release of its first high efficiency medical external power supplies. Offerings include both multi-blade wall adapters and desktop adapters. All units meet Level V efficiencies and come with UL/cUL and TUV 60601-1 safety certifications. The flexible EMMA multi-blade adapter series is designed for global use and comes standard with interchangeable blades for operation in North America, Europe, the United Kingdom, and Australia. CUI Inc announced the addition of a 1 A surface mount series to its highly efficient V78 dc switching regulator line.  The V78XX-1000-SMT is designed as a high performance alternative to linear regulators, offering efficiencies up to 92%. This is in contrast to efficiencies typically ranging from 40~60% in equivalent linear regulators. The V78 series achieves higher efficiencies through the use of a switching topology, making it ideal for applications where board space is at a premium and energy efficiency is a concern. CUI Inc announced a new series of enclosed dual output internal switching power supplies. The VGD series is offered in two configurations, 30 and 60 W. It is ideal for a wide range of applications including industrial control, networking, automation, and test & measurement equipment. The VGD series offers a universal input (85-264 Vac) and dual output voltages of either 5V/12V or 5V/24Vdc. Protections include short circuit, overload, and over-voltage.  All models are approved to UL, cUL, and Intertek 60950-1 safety standards and include a built-in EMI filter.
