National Electronics Week To Host Radiometrix Power-radio specialist Radiometrix will exhibit at National Electronics Week, which will take place from 16-18 June 2009 at London's Earls Court 2. Radiometrix will showcase its extensive range of wideband and narrowband low-power radio modules and latest products, including FCC Part 90 compliant radio modules. Opening times for this year's event are 10am-5pm on 16 and 17 June and 10am-4pm for 18 June.

Richard Noble Will Open National Electronics Week Richard Noble, the former land-speed record holder and driving force behind The Bloodhound SSC project, will open the 2009 National Electronics Week exhibition on 16 June at London's Earls Court. Noble will cut a ribbon and declare the show open to visitors at 10.00am at the front of the event's venue. He will then present a keynote speech. Noble is keen to ignite young people's interest in maths, science and engineering in the most exciting way possible, and cites this as the philosophy behind his latest land-speed record project, The Bloodhound SSC. The project will generate cutting-edge research that will have far reaching benefits across the science and engineering industries.

STS Receives PID controllers From Toho Electronics Southern Temperature Sensors (STS) has taken delivery of a range of PID controllers from Toho Electronics of Japan. STS already supplies refrigeration thermostats from Ako Electronica and high-performance control solutions from Gefran CRL, but a gap existed between the two lines, according to the company. The Toho controller range, which is intended to fill this gap, is claimed to offer PID temperature and process control at affordable prices. STS claims that the temperature and process controller is available in all major DIN sizes and is capable of accepting all thermocouple and RTD inputs, as well as analogue current and voltage inputs, giving it the versatility of a high-performance controller. An entry-level model of the controller costs less than GBP80. Other features include an inbuilt timer, optional RS485 communications, seven selectable alarm types and auto or manual tuning.

Kew Technik has introduced a telescopic pole that lets users make safe contact with exposed conductive parts on electrical equipment such as fluorescent luminaries, fans and air-conditioning units. The hollow pole can be extended up to 5.6M in length. It is available with or without an R2 test probe, which can be quickly fitted to the end of the pole, removing the need for ladder towers or scissor lifts. The telescopic pole has a polyester resin-baked coating for added durability.

Parvalux Motors Have Integrated Electronics Twelve months after the launch of its range of its DC brushless motors, Parvalux has strengthened its offering with a selection of motors with Integrated Electronics (IE). Both the PBL42 and PBL60 square frame ranges now come with optional integrated speed controllers. This offers product designers the advantage of the motor and controller coming in one low-profile, compact unit with no interconnecting wires, thereby making the task of design, installation and maintenance much easier To coincide with the release of the IE models, Parvalux has published a new catalogue for the entire DC brushless range. In addition to the wider selection of motor and controller options, the 2009 catalogue highlights 36 recommended gearmotor combinations, as well as add-ons, extras and other customisation options.

Rapid Electronics Launches Enclosures Rapid Electronics has launched a range of DIN rail-mountable ABS enclosures from Fibox, hand-held and wall-mounted enclosures from Pactec, and modular keyfob cases from Evatron. The Fibox Tempo range is fitted with an easy-to-install hinge, available with grey or clear lids, and IP65-rated RoHS-compliant and halogen-free, all Fibox enclosures are supplied with PUR gasket, screws for mounting plate and DIN rail, polyamide cover- screws and plastic hinges. Mounting plates, DIN rails, hinges, wall-mounting lugs and covers are all available separately. The XP series from Pactec is a range of hand-held enclosures for keypads, testers and other hand-held applications. Made of ABS-94HB polycarbonate material, the enclosures are secured by recessed screws and available in black or PC bone.
