Radiall Launches Co-Axial Connectors For Studios Radiall has introduced its BNC 75ohm HDTV co-axial connector series, which can handle data rates up to 3Gbps or higher while supporting the broadcast industry's SMPTE 292M and 424M standards. These connectors feature gold-plated centre and outer contacts, which provide good electrical performance with a frequency range of up to 6GHz, optimised at 3GHz. In addition, they are intermateable with standard 50ohm and 75ohm BNC products, and offer better mechanical performance and durability, with 1,000 mating cycles guaranteed. Connectors are also field-installable on most co-axial cables using hand-crimping tools and coloured cable boots available for easy coding of video signals. Radiall's BNC 75ohm HDTV co-axial connector series, high-frequency F connectors, high-density DIN 1.0/2.3 connectors, fibre-optic systems and other interconnect solutions have been developed for use in broadcast studios and broadcast transmission syste...
Amphe-EX Connectors For Hazardous Areas PEI-Genesis has expanded the range of products it stocks from Amphenol Operations to include the Amphe-EX series of Atex-approved, multi-pin hazardous area connectors. With its inventory of connector piece-parts and automated assembly machines, PEI-Genesis said it is able to assemble, test and despatch the Amphe-EX connectors in less than 48 hours from receipt of order. Designed for use in harsh environments, such as those associated with oil and gas exploration, petrochemical plants and fuel storage sites, Amphe-EX is a versatile miniature connector that accepts copper, co-axial or fibre-optic contacts. The connectors can also be specified with RJ45 or USB inserts for applications such as data acquisition, process control, communications systems and embedded computers. The Amphe-EX connectors feature machined aluminium components plated with a hard anodic coating for superior resistance to heat, corrosion and scratching - this enables the ...
Flex Connectors Supplies Light Control For Youths Flex Connectors' energy saving lighting control and connection products have been used in a youth venue in Norwich. The project is part of myplace; a ten year Government scheme which aims to provide improved facilities for young people. OPEN is the first of these venues to be completed in the UK. The installation contractor required a system capable of handling the complexities of the lighting brief. Flex Connectors occupancy sensors, plugs, leads, sockets and project configured connection boxes were chosen to use throughout the building.

Lane Releases Connectors For Military And Marines

Lane Electronics has announced a series of bronze MIL-DTL-38999 Series III connectors and backshells. The range is designed for surface military-marine applications, including radar, antenna and weapons-control systems. Products are qualified to CECC 75 201.002 and offer resistance to saltwater corrosion. Layouts are available with all contacts, including signal, coaxial and Quadrax. A selection of bronze backshells is also available, including non-environmental strain-relief backshells, EMI/RFI cable-sealing backshells, heat-shrink boot adaptors and backshells for screen terminations.
Mini-BNC Connectors Increase Wiring Densities A new range of 75ohm Mini-BNC connectors, engineered by Cambridge Connectors to meet 3G SDI video requirements, can increase wiring densities by up to a third. With a pitch of 12mm, compared to the standard BNC pitch of 16mm, the range is suitable for routing and switching equipment used extensively in video transmission networks. Its small size and weight make it suitable for outside broadcasts and similar confined or portable environments. A choice of straight, right-angle and printed-circuit-board (PCB) edge mounting styles is available with the additional option of a two-part version offering the opportunity for PCB hot-swapping. Reflection factors (VSWR) range between 1.04 at 1.5GHz and 1.16 at 3GHz, depending on the configuration. With an operating temperature range of -65C to +85C and a contact mating cycle of 500, the range is fully RoHS compliant and comes with a standard finish of brass/nickel.
Nexans Adds T-shaped Connectors To MV Range Nexans has extended its range of compact medium-voltage (MV) connectors with two T-shaped connectors designed for use with compact switchgear and transformers. The M430TB connector is for use with higher voltages (up to 36 kV) and the M434TB connector is for higher currents (up to 1,250A). Nexans' T-shaped connectors create a compact connection solution, enabling two cables to be connected in the same space required for one cable using a traditional, non-compact connector. As well as being suitable for applications where space is a limiting factor, the Nexans compact connectors also enable users to increase the capacity of an existing installation. The M430TB and the M434TB are separable bolted connectors designed to connect polymer-insulated cable to wind-turbine equipment such as switchgear and transformers. They can also be used for cable-to-cable connections with the appropriate mating parts. A key design feature is the 3mm EPDM...
