Accelerometers Offer Resolution Down To 0.05mg Sherborne Sensors has launched the A200 Series of high-precision, gravity-referenced linear servo accelerometers, offering measurement resolution down to 0.05mg. The accelerometers are available in ranges from +/-1 to +/-20g and are designed to reliably operate over a temperature range of -55 to 95C (-67 to 203F). The design of the A200 series incorporates a closed-loop balance-torque mechanism, allowing sensors to reliably measure vector acceleration and operating as a complete servo-measurement system. By adjusting servo-amplifier parameters and related electronic networks, operating characteristics of the A200 series can be optimised to suit particular application requirements. A200 series units are available with connector or solder-pins versions as standard, with the option for custom units that may be manufactured and tested to meet specific military-conformance standards. Flight-qualified versions are also available. Incorpora...

BFi OPTiLAS Offers Avigilon High Resolution Lens

BFi OPTiLAS has extended its Avigilon lossless mega pixel camera range with a high resolution mega pixel aspherical IR corrected lens. The compact mega pixel rated lens boasts a resolution of more than three mega pixel as well as low distortion, flat optics for sharp focus across the whole image and great contrast. The lens is suitable for any 1/4inch and 1/2inch mega pixel camera with auto iris control. Its low light capabilities and IR correction mean it is a versatile lens suitable for all security applications. Focal lengths are available in 4.5-10mm and 10-40mm, each with nine piece multi-coated glass optics and compact design for bodied cameras and most dome housings. BFI OPTiLAS maintains high standards in product selection and this lens is sure to impress all with its aluminium body, anodized finish and stainless steel camera mount.
GPEG TFT Display Features 800 x 600 Resolution GPEG International has announced the introduction of a 10.4in TFT display featuring a resolution of 800 x 600 pixels (SVGA). The FDT800600K TFT module incorporates a white LED backlight with an option of 250 or 500 nits brightness and a lifetime of 40,000 hours. The TFT display has a contrast ratio of 200:1 with a response time of 20ms. Displaying 262K colours over a wide horizontal and vertical viewing area the TFT operates over a temperature range of -20 to +70C. With its high-brightness long-life LED backlight the FDT800600V TFT display is suitable for embedded applications, industrial control systems, plus marine and medical equipment.

Displacement Sensors Offer Nanometre Resolution

A supplier of nano-positioning systems for atomic force microscopy (AFM) is using non-contact capacitive displacement sensors from Micro-Epsilon to measure the travel distance of test items. Based in Munich, Attocube Systems specialises in the development, manufacture and distribution of nano-positioning systems. Founded in 2001, the company is a spin-off from the Center for Nanoscience in Munich, Germany. The company's core competence is in ultra-high precision spatial positioning of objects - a prerequisite for most nanotechnology applications. Attocube's technology enables the positioning and scanning of objects with atomic resolution, but with travel distances in the centimetre range. Attocube has developed systems for a variety of extreme environments, including UHV applications, low temperatures and high magnetic fields. Atomic force microscopes are used to image, measure and manipulate matter at the nano scale. The information is gathered by 'feeling' the su...
