ARM Releases Ultra-Low-Power Physical IP Libraries ARM has announced the availability of ultra-low-power Physical IP libraries to drive the next generation of energy-efficient MCU devices. The ARM 0.18um ultra-low-power libraries (uLLs), coupled with the inherent power management advantages of the ARM Cortex processor family and the TSMC 0.18um embedded flash uLL/high-data-retention (HDR) process provides system-on-chip (SoC) designers with an additional reduction in power leakage by up to 10 times compared to 0.18um G implementations. The ARM libraries, combined with the ARM Cortex-M and Cortex-R profile processors, provide a alternative to companies that are accustomed to a multiple MCU system approach. Utilising an advanced ultra-low-power, single, 32-bit MCU and optimised ARM libraries for the TSMC 0.18um uLL Embedded Flash/HDR process, designers can increase their design efficiency and lower overall system cost. This combination of physical IP, processor architecture and manu...
Stahl Releases Fieldbus Power Supply System Stahl has expanded the ISbus range, adding a modular Fieldbus power supply system that provides up to 28V and 500mA for Foundation Fieldbus H1 segments, and allows for redundant supply. In Boost mode, a parallel connection of two power supplies enables users to continuously supply the bus with up to 1A, providing sufficient power reserves even for special Fieldbus applications. An integrated basic diagnosis function monitors each segment for line faults, reporting these via a potential-free relay contact and indicating them via a red Error LED. The activation of the integrated switchable Fieldbus terminator is clearly indicated by a yellow LED. The units can be installed on a DIN rail or clicked into place on special bus carriers. On each bus carrier, up to eight segments with a standard supply or four segments with a redundant supply are connected to a host via optional precon-figured system cables. The bus carrier can be operated with...
Meltric Releases Rubber Power-Distribution Boxes Meltric has brought out a line of portable power-distribution boxes made of a durable rubber material. The heavy-duty rubber boxes provide portability, while the switch-rated plugs and receptacles ensure electrical safety and simplify code compliance. Standard and custom configurations are available with inputs up to 100A and voltages up to 600V. Optional features include mini circuit breakers and duplex receptacles. This product line will allow more facilities to benefit from Meltric's switch-rated plugs and receptacles, which distribute power to welders, lighting, pumps and other electrical equipment. Meltric's switch-rated plugs and receptacles protect workers by preventing exposure to arc flash and live parts. They feature an integral switching mechanism that ensures the safe make or break of live connections and makes certain that the contacts are dead before the plug can be removed. They are UL-approved for use as a m...
IFM Releases Efector Valvis Reliable feedback of rising stem valve position is made easier with the Efector Valvis from IFM Electronic. Efector Valvis is designed for feedback on rising stem valves with a stroke of up to 80mm.Using Efector Valvis means that complex mounting of several individual position sensors on the valve piston is no longer required. Simple programming by pushing a button replaces mechanical adjustment to the respective valve positions. The Efector Valvis system operates on the inductive principle. The sensor signals up to three valve positions to the control system: valve open, valve closed and any position in between, for example, seat lift. Three-colour LEDs indicate the switching output. Rising stem valves differ, so a range of adapters for types including Alfa Laval Sudmo, Gemu and Georg Fischer is available from IFM Electronic.
Tentec Releases Hydraulic Bolt Tensioning Tools Tentec has brought out the Aero Model WTF range of hydraulic bolt tensioning tools for wind turbines, with 25mm piston/ram capability for one-pull uninterrupted tensioning. These tools can be supplied to suit different thread forms, such as Williams and Dyson threaded bars and ISO metric and Imperial Unified Thread forms. As the amount of thread protruding can vary between turbines, the tensioning tool has been designed to work in two different ways. When there is long stud protrusion from the foundation hexagon nut, a spare nut can be used on top of the Aero WTF tensioner, whereas with a short stud protrusion, an extended length puller can be used. This reaches down inside the tensioner to grip on to the short stud protrusion. Other features include the gear nut run-down mechanism, which offers a rapid and consistent method to seat the foundation hexagon nuts during the tensioning procedure. All WTF tensioners are fitted with a spring me...
Sherborne Sensors Releases Linear Accelerometers Sherborne Sensors has launched the A545 range of highly accurate and robust multi-axis linear accelerometers. They measure vector acceleration and are available in either bi- or tri-axial variants. Highly accurate piezo-resistive strain gauge technology is used which, unlike fluid-damped devices, employs air damping so that accuracy remains essentially independent of temperature. The transducer is engineered for harsh environments and is packaged in a robust aluminium alloy housing incorporating positive mechanical stops that confer high shock resistance and overload protection. It is also fully compensated for the effects of temperature on both sensitivity and zero outputs. Typical applications include biomechanical investigations, data acquisition systems and more severe uses such as crash test, impact, shock and vibration analysis. Acceleration ranges are from +/- 2 to +/-500g and for customers with specific applications, the accelero...
BEI Kimco Magnetics Releases Product Brochure BEI Kimco Magnetics, a company of Custom Sensors & Technologies, has recently released a product brochure highlighting its brushless DC motors and drives. The brochure provides a brief overview of each of these product lines as well as matrix detailing product specifications and associated part numbers. Also included is a synopsis of BEI Kimco Magnetics' manufacturing and quality standards and market position. For the brushless DC motors, customers can determine part number requirement based upon the following criteria: peak torque (Nm); continuous stall torque (Nm); maximum speed (rpm); motor constant; rotor length; diameter (mm); axial length (mm); and weight (g). For drives, the order criteria include: supply voltage (VDC); nominal current; max; current; and input. For linear actuators, customers can determine part number requirement based upon the following criteria: peak force (N); continuous stall force (N); total stroke (mm);...
