Press Ensures Safe Operation For Assembly Company Tox Pressotechnik has provided a press system designed to meet a series of ergonomic and safety needs, for an assembly company with handicapped employees. Vebo Werkstatt Olten eventually installed a Tox Press type CEB, consisting of a press frame of C-shape, a pneumo-hydraulic drive system, a Tox Powerpackage EKSD and a base frame. The press is equipped with a safety control, a swivelling control panel and a pedal switch, protective sheathing and a safety light grid. For universal use with most tools, the throat of the C-frame press is 200mm and the tool aperture is 200mm. The pneumo-hydraulic Powerpackage cylinder Tox EKSD generates a maximum press force of 130kN at 6bar compressed air. The 100mm total stroke of the cylinder and the real powerstroke of 10mm ensure that the punching, forming or pressing-in/pressing position are attained at a very high speed and the press-force stroke is realised in a sensitive way. In order to limit...

Penn Unveils Multi-Bowl Option For Fastener Press Penn Engineering has introduced a multi-bowl option for the Pemserter Series 3000 fastener-installation press that enables multiple insertions without tooling changeovers. The multi-bowl option allows an operator to install up to four different types and/or sizes of self-clinching nuts, studs and stand-offs in automatic feed mode. Benefits are said to include easier operation, increased flexibility, quicker fastener insertions and improved productivity compared with a standard machine using four fixed bowls and requiring manual tooling changes. The new option integrates the Series 3000 press with a QX Turret Tool system (handling the quick tooling changeovers automatically) and up to three expansion bowls. The press additionally features full servo electromechanical actuation technology without hydraulics to optimise ram function and achieve repeatable speed and force for proper, accurate and permanent installation of fasteners in t...

Schuler Fits Blankloaders For Servo Press Lines A German car manufacturer is using Schuler high-speed sheet-metal blank loaders for automated feeding of its new power-press lines. The high-speed blankloaders enable the mass manufacturing of single and multiple parts on three new Schuler servo press lines. The blankloader is flexible and can process single or double blanks made of steel or aluminium, either next to or behind each other, and offers a high de-stacking performance. Two robots alternately remove the blanks from the first de-stacking station and place them on a transport belt. The blanks are then transported through a spray lubrication unit to the optical centring station, where a robot centres them ready for loading into the first press stage. Schuler's automation solution includes a crossbar feeder that then places the blanks into the die of the first press. Reiner Doerner, head of product management at Schuler Automation, said: 'Once the first de-stacking stat...
