FXP-14 Antenna Is Ground-Plane Independent Alpha Micro Components is offering the Taoglas FXP.14 antenna, a flexible circuit GSM/cellular antenna that is ground-plane independent and measures 70 x 20mm. It is suitable for machine-to-machine (M2M) devices used in tracking, navigation, automotive and telemedical applications that require an embedded-antenna solution. It is designed to be mounted directly onto the product casing, saving design space and creating extra clearances for the antenna to radiate. A reference housing and PCB was used to design the antenna in order to predict real-life deployment. As it has its own ground plane and over 50 per cent antenna efficiency, the FXP.14 delivers effective network connection. Its high sensitivity means that connection can be sourced in low-signal areas and is also suited to devices that require higher data-throughput rates.
