Powerpax Launches P78 Switching Regulators Powerpax UK has launched the P78 range of high-efficiency switching regulators, which are designed to be pin compatible with 78xx series linear regulators. This series is designed to fit into the industry-standard TO-220 footprint and to provide a high-efficiency alternative to standard linear regulators. The P78 series features regulators with outputs of 0.5A and 1A, with efficiencies of up to 96 per cent. They feature inputs in the range of 4.5VDC to 32VDC and have low no-load current, making these products suitable for many applications, including those with battery power sources. All products have low-output ripple and noise and have comprehensive inbuilt protection, including continuous short-circuit and over-temperature protection. Output voltages range from 3.3V to 15V with a maximum line regulation of +/-0.4 per cent and a maximum load regulation of +/-0.6 per cent.
