Hitek Power Supply Offers 0-70kV Output Voltage Hitek Power has added an RS232-controlled variant to its XRG70 series of compact, high-voltage power supplies for high-performance analytical and measurement X-ray applications. The XRG70-703 RS232 offers an output-voltage range of 0 to 70kV at 0 to 1mA and maximum output power of 70W. The unit also incorporates a 5.5V DC, 3.5A grounded-filament power supply, part of of Hitek 's range of products designed for use in grounded-cathode applications. The filament supply is automatically controlled by the integral beam-current loop control and the power stage uses a current-fed resonant push-pull converter to give high efficiency while ensuring reliable operation. The product combines surface-mount technology, high-voltage stress control and new packaging techniques. It measures 140 (W) x 73 (H) x 233mm (D) and weighs 3.3kg. Power Supplies Provide Constant Voltage Output Powerpax has introduced a range of waterproof IP67-rated power supplies that are particularly suitable for LED applications, as well as CCTV and access security requirements. The CE and UL safety-approved series meet RoHS requirements and start at 15W, providing a constant voltage output in a case measuring 160 x 30 x 20mm. The 200W constant-voltage unit measures 230 x 118 x 60mm. Powerpax offer a branding service for orders of 100 pieces and over and are also able to modify standard units to meet customers' exact requirements, such as custom lead lengths and input and output terminations. Powerpax also offers 15 and 30W constant-current IP67-rated LED units within the same range. All units are housed in a high-quality aluminum case.
iSpeed Drives Match System Output To Demand Parker Hannifin has launched a range of intelligent variable speed drives that it says will deliver energy savings for users of commercial and industrial refrigeration and air-conditioning systems. The company said the drives can cut up to 40 per cent of the energy used by refrigeration systems with single compressor units and up to 25 per cent from the energy consumed by conventional multi-stage compressor racks. The drives, designated iSpeed, are designed to control the operating speeds of compressors, fans and pumps, matching system output precisely to variations in demand, giving optimum energy efficiency with low maintenance and long-term reliability. In addition, the ability to ensure accurate control of refrigeration systems, with precise and smooth adjustments in compressor speed to match operating load demands, helps to minimise the problems caused by fluctuations in pressure and temperature.
