Kistler Measuring Chain Records Melt Pressure The melt-pressure measuring chain from Kistler enables the precise measurement and recording of melt pressure when moulding components to tight dimensional tolerances. The chain is made up of a factory-calibrated sensor, matched amplifier and cable designed to measure and record the melt pressure in injection-moulding machines and hot-runner systems, and is also suitable for measuring static pressure in polymer pumps. The sensor allows the melt pressure and temperature signals to be integrated into the moulding machine's control system. The very stable, high-temperature-resistant, piezoresistive measuring element is protected by a robust diaphragm, allowing the sensor to be mounted directly in the flow of the material to eliminate the time lag inherent in indirect measuring systems. HBM Torque Flange Has Measuring Range From 200Nm HBM has improved the performance of its T40 multi-purpose torque flange with a new rated measuring range from 200Nm. The T40 is now available with rated torques of 200nm, 500nm, 1kNm, 2 kNm, 3 kNm, 5 kNm and 10kNm. Intended to provide accurate torque measurements, even under difficult ambient conditions, the T40 features identical electrical configuration throughout the series. This allows the torque transducer to be used for a range of applications - from friction performance measurements, applications for engine or gear test benches to chassis test benches - without modifications. The T40 series' compact design means that the torque flange can be easily integrated into a test bench and is insensitive to parasitic loads. Vitronic Launches Vipac D2 Measuring Device Vitronic has introduced the Vipac D2 measuring device, which automatically calculates the volume of parcels and the smallest box that they can be enclosed in. Developed for scanning irregular-shaped items, it enables users to optimise space in transit vehicles, verify package data provided by customers and automate invoicing. According to the company, irregularly shaped parcels are problematic for automated handling systems. They often require manual intervention to process, which is time consuming and inefficient. Vipac D2 eliminates the need for manual intervention, leading to significant cost savings. Mounted above powered conveyors, Vipac D2 uses sensors to emit fan-shaped laser beams, which are reflected back by objects travelling through.
