Gavazzi Sensors Measure Environmental Variables Carlo Gavazzi has introduced a range of sensors to measure environmental variables including CO2 levels, humidity, temperature and airflow. The CGES sensors complement the company's existing offerings to provide complete solutions for energy management, HVAC and smart building applications. The devices can be used to control humidity level in wet climates, improving comfort and discouraging the growth of mildew. Standards introduced by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers define a maximum CO2 level of 1000ppm; and the ASHRAE 62-1989 norm has been widely adopted in countries including Sweden, France and Japan as well as the USA. CGESCO2 sensors use non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) technology to provide measurement ranges 0-2000 or 0-5000ppm. Compression Load Cells Measure Large Loads

RDP Electronics has announced that its Model 13 compression load cell can handle a 1,000lb load and measures just 19mm in diameter and 6.5mm high. The larger model - Model 53 - at 36mm diameter and 25mm us rated for a maximum 30,000lbs. Utilising stainless-steel construction, both versions are physically robust, compact and well-suited for measuring large loads in applications were space is limited. Models D and TH offer the additional benefit of through-hole mounting.

Accelerometer Gets The Measure Of Shocks Measurement Specialties has released the Model 3700 accelerometer for impact, structural and transient shock testing. New from Measurement Specialties, the Model 3700 MEMS piezoresistive shock accelerometer was specifically designed for use in impact and shock testing environments and is packaged in a rugged stainless-steel housing. The accelerometer is available in ranges from +/-2000 to +/-6000g and is ideal for long-duration shock transient measurements. The accelerometer incorporates mechanical overrange stops that offers shock protection greater than 10,000g. A PFA-jacketed cable, with customer selected cable length, provides reliable operation in transient environments.
