DC/DC LED Drivers Launched By Powerpax UK Powerpax UK has announced the launch of the PLC24AH range of dimmable, constant current, DC/DC LED drivers. The PLC24AH series provide a step-down constant current source for driving high-brightness LEDs. Standard output currents include 300mA, 350mA, 500mA, 600mA and 700mA, making these drivers compatible with a range of LEDs and applications. The output voltage range for these drivers is 2-32VDC and all models feature continuous short-circuit protection. These products have a compact size and operate without the need for external components. They provide a high-efficiency solution (up to 95 per cent) for LED driving in both standard and dimming applications. Dimming is achieved through use of an industry standard PWM method - the PWM input is specified to operate between 0.2-10Khz. If dimming is not required, the PWM input doubles as a remote On/Off input. This series has an operating temperature range of -40C to +71C (minimum). These dri...

DC/DC Converter Launched By Ericsson Ericsson Power Modules's BMR454 DC/DC converter delivers double the power of most conventional eighth-brick modules, a wide input range of 36-75V, and a tightly regulated output. The BMR454 eighth-brick family delivers up to 240W with an efficiency rating up to 95 per cent at full load, and a PMBus interface is included. The parameters of the BMR454 can be monitored via PMBus, and they can also be adjusted - by the customer or Ericsson - into an endless number of combinations. The module can be used as an intermediate bus converter (IBC) in front of a range of regulators, or as a traditional DC/DC module powering applications such as hard drives, fans and others. Important application areas are 48V information and communication technology applications such as radio base stations, servers, routers, and a range of systems powered by 48VDC. The modules can be used for improved system efficiency, as output voltage and other parameters can be adj...

CRE Machines Launched By Holton Crest Holton Crest has announced the launch of its continuous rotary extrusion machines, which it says are ideal for turning metal feedstocks into profitable bar, tube and complex profile products. The Holton Crest's continuous rotary extrusion (CRE) lines are capable of producing shapes and profiles across a large range of product cross-sectional areas from reductions to expansions. The machines are ideal for the continuous high-volume production of application-ready copper and aluminium electrical busbars and conductors requiring optimum surface quality and straightness. Production scope includes transformer winding strips and motor commutators. The current application growth areas for Holton machines lie in the production of advanced materials, with their capability of processing material at a high rate. For example, in continuous high-volume production of application-ready copper, production rates of 4,000kg/h are achievable with the HC4000. ...

Pneumatic Vibration Isolators Launched By Newport Newport has announced the release of the S-2000 Stabilizer series of pneumatic vibration isolators. The offering incorporates Newport's self-centring pendulum design, laminar flow damping system, and precision auto-levelling valves. In addition, the S-2000 design incorporates enhanced levelling indicators, recessed lifting channels and a lower magnetic permeability design. Newport said the S-2000, with a 2000lb load capacity per isolator, is an ideal solution for isolating optical tables, large inspection equipment, heavy machinery, and large area sub-floors. Newport is also making available a standard offering of fully non-magnetic models as well as clean-room compatible versions in the near future. The initial offering of the S-2000 will be available in six heights ranging from 16-28in all equipped with precision re-levelling valves. The S-2000 Stabilizer performance delivers a 1Hz vertical resonant frequency and a vertical ...

Aerotech has launched a range of precision worm-drive rotary stages featuring large through-apertures and a preload system that provides a high level of accuracy with minimal wear. The AGR series covers five models with internal diameter from 50-200mm and is available with continuous 360deg travel, or with a mechanically limited travel range (down to 5deg). Axial load capacity is up to 570kg and rated speed to 30rpm; and the range includes optional directly mounted encoders for best performance repeatability and negligible levels of hysteresis and backlash. Typical specifications across the AGR series include a 120 arc-sec positional accuracy without encoder fitted and 20 arc-sec when the servomotor mounted encoder option is used. Corresponding without- and with- encoder specifications for bidirectional repeatability are 30 arc-sec and 8 arc-sec. Stage resolution, with a 2500 line servomotor mounted encoder fitted on the largest stage, is 2.1 arc-sec - while the same size stage wi...
