Quantum Releases Upgrade For Pulse Generator Quantum Composers offers a firmware upgrade option for the legacy Stanford Research Systems DG535 pulse generator, allowing the user to use existing programming language as Command Set Compatibility. This will aid in transitioning programming software from the DG535 to the more fully featured and higher throughput QC9520. The majority of these commands perform identically to the SRS equivalent instrument functions, and several capabilities actually extend the functionality and/or the limits of the SRS equivalent capabilities. The 9520 Series provides solutions to generate and synchronise multiple pulses and triggers for a variety of applications. For automated test sequencing, all common computer interfaces, such as RS232, USB, GPIB and Ethernet, are available. The 9520 Series provides up to eight fully independent, digitally controlled channels with width, delay, and rate and amplitude control on each output.
Rohde And Schwarz Adds Signal Generator Options Rohde and Schwarz is now offering two new options for its RandS SMA100A analogue high-end signal generator. By adding the RandS SMA K27 option, users can quickly configure different pulse trains for tests in radar-specific development, production and maintenance. An external pulse generator is no longer needed. The RandS SMA K28 option can analyse signal power versus frequency, power and time by using the RandS SMA100A signal generator together with a power sensor from the RandS NRP-Z family. Pulse trains consist of pulses that have different durations. Their pulse width and pulse pause can be user configured. Such signals are frequently used in radar systems. Interfering with such pulses is far more difficult than with pulses sent at regular intervals. Midigas Generator Produces Food-Grade Nitrogen Parker Domnick Hunter showcased its Midigas nitrogen gas generator at the Gulfood 2009 exhibition, and has received its first orders for the unit. The updated Midigas range offers improved performance, better flow rates and purity and a bridged flow-rate gap between the Maxigas range. Midigas and Maxigas systems offer an alternative to traditional nitrogen sources for a range of applications in the food and beverage industry, such as modified atmosphere packaging, gas flushing, pressure transfer and blanketing of foodstuffs and raw materials. Parker Domnick Hunter said users can save up to 90 per cent on their nitrogen gas costs due to a low life-cycle ownership cost and on-demand functionality, which allows greater control over nitrogen production, limiting waste and facilitating high energy efficiency.
