NI Digital Video Analyser Tests Multimedia Devices National Instruments has introduced NI Videomaster 3.0, a PXI-Express-based digital video analyser for validation and production testing of multimedia devices. Videomaster simplifies the testing of multimedia devices by using configurable measurement steps within NI TestStand test-management software to automate a full suite of video measurements. By taking advantage of the efficient, configurable performance of Videomaster 3.0, multimedia test engineers can significantly reduce development costs and decrease overall test time. The PXI Express digital video analyser makes it possible for engineers to test multimedia devices with High-Definition Multimedia Interfaces (HDMIs). The solution supports the analysis of HDMI signals with Full HD resolution up to 1080p/60Hz, High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) and deep colour with up to 12-bit colour depth. The Videomaster digital video analyser solution also includes more th...
HBM Introduces CMD600 Digital Charge Amplifier The HBM CMD600 digital charge amplifier enables mechanical quantities, such as force, pressure or torque, in the measured range of 50pC to 600,000pC to be measured with piezoelectric sensors. It also allows the quantities to be made available either as analogue voltage signals (0-10V) or in digital form via its integrated Ethernet interface. The amplifier is said to be suitable for very fast measurements with frequencies up to 30kHz. All signal inputs and outputs are electrically isolated, ensuring simple and secure integration in control systems. Additional digital inputs and outputs can be used for various control functions with peak value or limit value signalling. The PC software provided allows the user to configure the amplifier using standard TCP/IP. The software recognises every CMD600 in the network automatically and enables IP address setting. The CMD600 utilises a transducer electronic datasheet (TEDS) so that any connecte...

Sprint Expands Range Of Digital DC Drives

Sprint Electric has brought out digital DC drives that function up to 1850A (800 KW/1080 HP). The digital DC drives are available in two-quadrant and four-quadrant options. They control DC motors used in heavy-industry applications such as mining, metal working or the cement industry. The high-voltage models are available for supplies up to 690VAC to enable control of DC motors up to 750VDC. Centre-winding macros, spindle orientation and a controllable field allow the user to control DC motors in heavy-industry applications. The PLX is configurable by the user and comes equipped, as standard, with a comprehensive suite of application blocks. A configuration checker detects any conflicts in the configurations generated by the user. The motor-protection features reduce downtime. A four-button keypad and large alpha-numeric display make it easy to quickly navigate through a range of software functions. The PLX has a number of fieldbus communications options, including: Profibus, Devi...
