FDK DC/DC Converter Comes In SIP Package FDK has extended its DK Series of non-isolated, point-of-load (POL) DC/DC converters with the FPDK12TR8006PSV converter in a low-profile single-in-line (SIP) package. The converter delivers up to 6A of output current at a power density exceeding 950W/in3. It has an efficiency of up to 93 per cent and provides a complete power-conversion solution without the need for external input and output capacitors. The converter is designed for a range of telecommunications, data-communications, computing, industrial and consumer applications where board space, cost, profile, efficiency and reliable operation in elevated temperature environments are critical. The FPDK12TR8006PSV is offered in a 0.394 x 0.220in (10.0 x 5.6mm) SIP package, with a height of 0.472in (12.0mm). Murata Expands Okami Range Of PoL DC/DC Converters Murata Power Solutions has added a miniature 3A, SIP model to its Okami family of non-isolated point-of-load (PoL) DC/DC converters. The OKR-T/3-W12-C provides a solution for designs that require a wide input-voltage range. It offers a high-efficiency PoL solution where board space is limited. Typical applications include datacom routers and servers, industrial equipment such as light-emitting-diode (LED) signage, point-of-sale (PoS) systems and power amplifiers, where the new DC/DC converters are able to provide a cost-efficient way to meet the onboard power needs of ASICs, FPGAs, microprocessors and communications ICs. The new addition to the Okami range has an input-voltage range of 4.5VDC to 14VDC (12VDC nominal) and a programmable output voltage from 0.591VDC to 6.0VDC. Its internal 1.2A switches can deliver output voltages as high as 5.25V from an input voltage range of 1.8V to 5.5V, making it ideal for Li-ion/polymer, 3.3V PC card slot or multi-cell alkaline/Nimh applications.
