Adept Offers Jai's 040 Progressive Scan Cameras Two new Mini Camera Link (MCL) 0.4-megapixel progressive scan cameras from Jai are now available from Adept Electronic Solutions. The CM-040MCL (monochrome) and CB-040MCL (Bayer colour) cameras are targeted at clients requiring small, high-quality devices with advanced functionality at a cost-effective price. Jai has designed these MCL models for applications that require higher-bandwidth, real-time signalling and a lower latency than is possible using GigE interfaces. At 776 x 582 pixels, the 040 models provide slightly greater resolution than basic VGA versions while maintaining a high frame rate of 60fps. The cameras utilise the Sony ICX415 charge-coupled device and, while at full resolution output is at 61fps, higher frame rates can be achieved by using the partial-scan or vertical-binning modes. Barber Insys Offers EC060 Thermal Imaging Cameras Trotec's EC060 hand-held low-cost thermal imaging cameras, available from Barber Insys, incorporate a 160 x 120 pixel un-cooled micro bolometer, flip-out display and visual camera option. There are three models to choose from: the EC060 standard, which has two measuring spots, one auto hot/cold spot and one movable; the EC060V, which has an integrated digital camera and five spots, four movable and one auto hot/cold; and the EC060V+, which has an integrated digital camera and Bluetooth software (including headset and real-time IR video incorporated in the camera, real time software optional), nine movable spots and one auto hot-/cold-spot, integrated profile and area analysis. All three models have a 50/60Hz image refresh rate, so rotating machinery is not a problem. The EC series is an ideal entry-level camera for engineers and surveyors.

Stemmer Imaging's Dalsa Piranha ES (Extended Sensitivity) linescan cameras feature time delay and integration (TDI). The cameras combine speed, resolution and sensitivity to low-light applications. The ES series bridges the sensitivity gap between single-line cameras and the highest sensitivity Piranha HS series. With up to 32 TDI stages and up to 8k resolution, the Piranha ES cameras open new possibilities for high-performance cost-sensitive inspection. JAI has added the BM-141GE (monochrome) and the BB-141GE (Bayer colour) 1.4 megapixel cameras to its C3 Basic series. These cameras, which feature a GigE Vision interface, are particularly suited to the changing lighting conditions of outdoor applications. The megapixel resolution of these cameras provides outstanding image quality. The BM-141GE and BB-141GE are based on Sony's ICX-285 2/3in progressive scan CCD (1392 x 1040 pixels), providing excellent sensitivity and spectral response. This sensor uses its 6.45um pixel size and improved microlens technology to provide higher overall sensitivity (as low as 0.03 lux) with low smear characteristics. It also features extended spectral response in the near-IR region, offering roughly four-times the sensitivity of conventional sensors at a 945nm wavelength. The GigE uEye HE industrial camera range is said to be suitable for sophisticated, complex machine vision and image-processing applications. The range features 18 models, including both monochrome and colour versions, with resolutions from VGA (640 x 480 pixels) through WVGA (CCIR/PAL), XGA, SXGA, UXGA to QSXGA (2560 x 1920 pixels). The introduction of the uEye 3.30 driver provides increased support for many hardware and software features for this range of cameras.
