Couplings For Individual Encoder Applications Controlflex from Schmidt-Kupplung is designed for the requirements of shaft encoders. This encoder coupling compensates all kinds of misalignment with very low restoring forces and in a remarkably small envelope. The coupling is electrically insulating, builds short and always works with constant angular velocity. The coupling manufacture also realises individual systems and encoder-coupling solutions optimised for specific applications. These include, for example, shaft-encoder applications with positive locking and fail-safe for stage technology, with customer-specific hubs for expanding or hollow shafts or with greater misalignment requirements.

Parker Actuators Target Demanding Applications Parker Hannifin has enhanced and extended its range of high-speed, high-power linear actuators. The ET Electro Thrust Actuators have been developed for demanding movement, positioning and clamping applications in the packaging, process and materials-handling sectors. They incorporate a precision-class C7 ballscrew, driven either directly by an inline motor or indirectly via a toothed belt from a motor mounted to the body of the actuator. The ballscrew can be supplied with a pitch of 5 to 50mm/revolution and effectively acts as a high-performance feed unit, to move a piston and rod assembly at speeds of up to 1.3m/sec over stroke lengths of between 0.05 and 2.4m. The system is capable of providing a maximum force of 44,500N, yet offers repeatability of within plus or minus 0.01mm, with backlash of just 0.02mm when used with an inline drive. The ballscrew-nut assembly incorporates a recirculating ball system, which reduces frictional los...

Cutting Head Suits High-Pressure Applications The Active Autoline Pro abrasive cutting head from KMT Waterjet Systems has been specifically designed for waterjet cutting with 6,200 bar pressures. Its design and materials of construction can withstand large forces while focusing the energy to the cutting jet. According to KMT, the features of Active Autoline Pro cutting heads include automatic precision alignment, repetition accuracy, high cutting speeds, long service life and easy maintenance. It takes a few seconds to replace the few wear parts of the head, such as the water nozzle, mixing chamber and focusing tube - and no tools are required. In order to keep routine maintenance to a minimum, these components are made from tough wear-proof materials and are part of the company's PSC (Precision System Components) range, which includes all the installation parts required to feed the high pressure from the pump to the connected cutting stations. PSC parts have been specificall...

Kavlico has introduced a suite of sensors designed to perform in a wide variety of hydraulic applications. Capable of operating for millions of pressure cycles, these low power consumption pressure sensors provide an accurate, reliable and stable signal over many years of operation in the harshest environments. The high overpressure capability of Kavlico sensors for fluid power applications is designed to withstand the pressure fluctuations associated with these applications. These rugged devices have stainless steel housings and can be configured with a broad selection of process and electrical connectors to fit the specification criteria for each application. Operating on 5V DC, the sensors provide a 0.5 to 4.5 linear amplified output proportional to pressure. Pressure ranges are available up to 6,000lb/in2. Typical pressure sensor applications include: on- and off-highway vehicle hydraulic systems; trenching machines; pressurised tools; adaptive suspension systems; material te...
New Junction Box Lets DC Sensors Be Used in AC Applications

TURCK's New M12 Eurofast AC/DC Junction Box contains an integrated DC power supply that allows the use of DC sensors in AC applications. This unique 4-port junction box simulates a 2-wire AC sensor providing a cost-effective solution that is easier than installing a separate power supply and relays. Costs are reduced by using DC sensors, which are generally less expensive, instead of AC sensors. The newly integrated power supply also permits the end user to utilize the more prevalent and varied DC sensors in every application, and reduces sensor stock levels. The AC/DC Interlink BT Junction Box offers 85-132 VAC input, 100 mA output per port, and 24 VDC output to PNP short-circuit protected sensors only. The die-cast aluminum alloy, fully encapsulated housing offers IP 67 protection when all ports are connected or are covered with closure caps. A 7-pin minifast ® connector provides home run quick connection.
