Diagnostic Electronics with Fast Reaction Time, Detects Machine Crash Less Than 1 ms

Image
By continuously monitoring a machine’s condition, unforeseen problems can be identified and addressed. Vibration analysis protects machine components, tools and workpieces during machining against costly consequential damage and avoids scrap. ifm’s multiplex vibration monitor provides specific vibration analysis on components inside a machine such as rolling element bearings, rotational unbalances, and gear drives. The system consists of a cabinet-mount diagnostic module, model VSE, and multiple compact accelerometers that are mounted permanently on the equipment. The condition of the equipment is continually monitored and evaluated for any changes in the operating parameters. Time and frequency domain data is locally processed for triggering of the integrated programmable analog and digital outputs, or for transmission to SCADA systems via the integrated Ethernet communication port.

The O3D Smart Sensor - Adding an Extra Dimension to Your Machines

Image
ifm's O3D Smart Sensor is a unique industrial 3D imaging solution that enables automated machines to perceive their environment in 3D, with human-like vision. The O3D Smart Sensor’s Application Assistant, with its patented 3D chip technology, adds a third dimension of sight to Packaging and Material Handling Machines. The result is unparalleled machine vision and improved efficiency. • The Case Completeness application is designed to verify that a case contains all the necessary products. It ensures that all contents are properly placed in the case, eliminating the potential for short shipments and damaged products. • The Box Dimensioning application confirms sequencing of products for mixed-case palletizing and sized-based sortation, preventing crashes and delays. The O3D Smart Sensor dimensions boxes and cases to an accuracy of ± 10mm. New applications to decrease cycle time, including palletizing, depalletizing and pallet fork pocket protection solutions are in development and

RFID High Frequency System for Tracking High-Speed Processes

CARLO GAVAZZI is pleased to announce two new product lines designed specifically for harsh environments. The new ICS Inductive Proximity Sensors meet or exceed IP69K, ECOLAB, and FDA standards. The new CONB Series Cordsets meet or exceed IP69K and ECOLAB standards. Both the ICS Sensors and the CONB Cordsets are perfect for environments where high pressure sprays, high temperatures, or harsh chemicals are present. The ICS Series sensors are the ideal solution for harsh environments such as those found in the Food and Beverage, Mobile Equipment, Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Renewable Energy and Agricultural industries. Key features and benefits include:     IP69K ensures the sensor and cordset will withstand high pressure and high temperature cleaning processes     ECOLAB certification ensures resistance to many harsh acids, alkalines, aggressive chemicals, cleaning agents and disinfectants     FDA compliance assures that ICS Series sensors are made of materials approved for use in th

Multi-Site Energy Data Loggers with Embedded Web Servers

Image
CARLO GAVAZZI has launched a new line of modular monitoring systems for energy management. VMU-C EM is a data logger system for small to medium projects, VMUC-Y EM is a hardware data aggregator for medium to larger projects and Em2 Server is a software solution for large projects. They are designed to complement the extensive line of Carlo Gavazzi energy maters and current transformers. The VMU-C EM is a combination of hardware modules, whose primary function is to collect data from a network of energy meters and environmental sensors and then make this data available to end users utilizing industry standard methods, such as integrated web server, FTP, HTTP and Modbus/TCP data transfers. In addition to data management, the VMU-C EM platform can provide a relay output, SMS or email alarms and scalable pulse rate inputs. The VMU-C EM can function as a standalone data logging solution for applications with up to 32 meters or as a data gateway for larger installations. The VMU-Y EM is a

UA18xSD Series Compact Ultrasonic Sensors

Image
CARLO GAVAZZI is pleased to announce a new range of compact ultrasonic sensors, available in M18 housings constructed of thermoplastic (UA18CSD Series) and stainless steel (UA18ESD Series). Despite their compact 53 to 61mm overall housing length, these new sensors provide long sensing distances up to 800mm. They provide an excellent cost/performance ratio for OEMs in a variety of markets, including Wood, Material Handling, Food & Beverage, HVAC, Packaging, Plastic & Rubber, Agriculture, Glass & Ceramics and Automotive. Both digital output and analog output versions are available. Digital NPN or PNP versions can be either NO or NC, and support two different set-points, providing a detection “window.” The analog output versions include 4-20mA or 0-10VDC, with positive or negative slope. A simple “teach-by-wire” function provides an easy means to set up the sensor parameters. Standard connection options include either a two meter PVC cable or M12 connector. All UA18CSD and U
