Honeywell Assists Employees Affected by Philippines Flooding

When eight Honeywell Aerospace employees from the Subic Bay facility in the Philippines were displaced from their homes due to extreme flooding in early August, the Honeywell Humanitarian Relief Fund (HHRF) quickly provided financial assistance as many of their possessions were seriously damaged or destroyed. About 30 employees are located at this facility. More than 780,000 people were displaced across the Philippines due to flooding from monsoon rains and a tropical storm.

“I would like to extend my gratitude to Honeywell Hometown Solutions for extending us financial assistance at such a time as this,” said Subic Bay accountant Mika Hirata. “With the amount provided to us we were able to buy materials to make our ceiling stronger and find a comfortable place to stay.”

The HHRF is part of Honeywell Hometown Solutions, the company’s corporate citizenship initiative. Funded in part by donations from Honeywell employees, the HHRF strives to address both the immediate and long-term needs of communities affected by natural disasters around the world. HHRF has assisted employees affected by natural disasters in Colorado Springs, Texas and other locations. The HHRF has also assisted in recovery efforts after major disasters in Haiti, China and Japan.
