6000A & 6000B : Surface Mount Power Inductors Offer Lowest DC Resistance and High Current and Inductance Values

Murata Power Solutions today announced the 6000A and 6000B series of surface mount power inductors. Designed for energy storage, input or output filtering and DC/DC converter applications, these compact inductors offer what is believed to be the lowest DC resistance values currently available. Both series can accommodate high current throughput and offer a wide range of inductance values. The 6000A series comprises 11 models, with inductance values ranging from 5.8 to 57.8 uH, maximum current values (Idc) from 4.9 to 14.5 A, and a DC resistance from 5 to 36 mOhm. Offering inductance values from 47 to 680 uH the 6000B series has 8 models that accommodates maximum current from 3.0 to 10.5 A, and have a DC resistance of 13 to 135 mOhm. The inductors are supplied in tape and reel packaging for high volume, automated surface mount assembly and comply with the J-STD-020D reflow process.

50 Watt Isolated DOSA Compatible Sixteenth Brick DC/DC Converters Offer 4:1 Input Range

Murata Power Solutions today announced the UWS series of 50 Watt medium power isolated DC/DC converters that are available in either through-hole or surface mount configurations. Meeting the DOSA standard for sixteenth brick dimensions of 1.31 x 0.91 x 0.36 inches, these compact units accommodate the wide input range of + 18 to + 75 VDC around a nominal 48 VDC. Input to output isolation is rated at 2,250 VDC so that the output is protected from spikes, transients and noise on the input. Within the series there are three models offering outputs of 3.3, 5 or 12 VDC. Up to 54 W output is available without the need for any forced air cooling. The 12 VDC unit suits regulated intermediate bus applications. The outputs are regulated to within +/- 0.125% across all load conditions. Also, the outputs may be trimmed +/- 10%, 3.3 VDC model, or +10% to -20% for the 5 and 12 VDC models allowing the user to compensate for voltage losses. MEE3 Series of DC/DC Converters Achieves 50% Power Output Increase within The Same Package

Murata Power Solutions today announced the MEE3 series of single output 3 Watt ultra compact DC/DC converters suitable for a wide range of industrial and telecommunications applications. These single-in-line 4 pin packages (SIP4) provide 50% more power than previous 2 W devices using the same industry standard package. In addition, compared to other 3 W converters that traditionally use a dual-in-line 24 pin package (DIP24), the MEE3 series is much smaller resulting in a 200% increase in power density from 0.9 to 2.68 Watts per cubic cm. Within the series two modules are available offering either 5 VDC or 12 VDC inputs. The popular nominal outputs of 5, 9, 12 or 15 VDC are available across the full MEE3 range. Typical converter efficiency is from 83% to 89% and is model dependent. No additional forced air cooling or heatsinks are required. The series offers exceptional load regulation, typically in the range of 2.7 to 6.3%. These fully encapsulated units offer 1,000 V input to ou

Automated Boiler Blowdown Control System Reduces Water & Energy Consumption To Cut Plant Costs

The highly reliable automated Model 61 Boiler Blowdown Control System from Electro-Chemical Devices (ECD) offers a complete, ready-to-use system providing continuous control of the surface blowdown rate for commercial and industrial boilers, optimizing blowdown cycles and reducing scaling and corrosion to reduce plant operating costs and extend boiler life. With its precision accuracy, the automated Model 61 Boiler Blowdown Control System reduces boiler maintenance make-up water consumption and the energy needed to heat it. In comparison to performing blowdown cycles manually, the system offers operational cost advantages by continuously adjusting the blowdown rate to optimize the boiler water's electrolytic conductivity. As boilers operate, dissolved solids accumulate in the water. When total dissolved solids (TDS) become overly concentrated, they can cause damage to piping, steam traps and other process equipment and form sludge in the boiler. The sludge impairs boiler effi

Easy to Use, Economical CA-6 Colorimetric Silica Analyzer for Boilers

Maintaining boiler water quality is easier than ever with the user-friendly CA-6 Online Analyzer from Electro-Chemical Devices, which uses colorimetric technology to accurately and reliably perform silica measurements. When boiler water is contaminated with silica, scaling can occur. Silica picked up by boiler steam can be deposited on generator turbines and lead to blade corrosion and diminished boiler efficiency. Effective monitoring of silica levels in boiler water helps to determine how well a boiler's demineralizer system is working, protecting equipment and ensuring that power generation systems are functioning as safely and economically as possible. The CA-6 Analyzer is available in models measuring silica at 0-1.0 mg/L, 0-10.0 mg/L or 0-60 mg/L. It can also utilize photometric differential absorbance to analyze over 20 other common parameters in addition to silica including: aluminum, phosphate, nitrogen, iron and sulfate. It operates at a wide temperature range of 5-

MLCC Capacitors can be Used in Harsh Environments Now available, Holy Stone's compact 'Verti-Zontal' (vertically oriented, horizontally stacked) MLCC capacitors are designed for applications with limited headroom, requiring a high-CV product. This SVZ Series orients individual capacitors vertically, limiting the overall height while the stack itself extends horizontally across the mounting area on the board. The low ESR design allows for very high CV in the available footprint space. The compact yet high-CV design of these Verti-Zontal stacks is suitable for power applications including input and output filters. Its lead frame construction isolates the MLCC from both thermal and mechanical stresses, which can be problematic with large capacitors. The Holy Stone design provides outstanding mechanical integrity as the design provides for individual leads to be centred on each cap insert. The low centre of gravity provides superior shock and vibration resistance, so they
